For a given hand, the ante is usually about $1 or $5. However, the best bet in a particular game will be based on the table rules. If a player does not make the required ante, he forfeits his right to the pot.

Using a deck of 52 cards is standard. Typically, players can replace cards with a pair from their own hand, or with a single card from the table.
